How's Molly May treating everyone? I really enjoyed last week's lighter meals and they were perfect for us not being at home for dinners most nights. In fact the kielbasa and the buttermilk pea pasta both spilled over into Monday meals, but who cares! What matters is that it's getting eaten and not going to waste. As a fun experiment, I had Trent put all our groceries in our cart to order curbside while I was cooking this week. Things I noticed: 1) he adds a lot more snacks so the grocery bill is a bit higher than normal, 2) he doesn't compare prices and quantities of ingredients. I went through and brought the grocery bill down from $155 to $121 just making economical swaps for the same ingredient. Might be something to keep tabs on if you are following the grocery lists and noticing that the totals don't match.
This week we have one night out of the house, but the rest at home and we even have some friends coming over for dinner on Thursday! I plan on making the Mollz Ballz and adding some spaghetti and then they are bringing a salad to make it a whole meal. I added the Spiced Lentil burger as a healthy but filling veggie option. The Sizzled Seedy Tomatoes will go well as a side there. Chicken Salad will be for a day that requires a lighter meal and can even be a good lunch option. I have no explanation for the cake other than it looked delicious, I had all the ingredients already and who doesn't love a good snacking cake?
